Beginning of the Bloomin'

Last week was incredible gorgeous --! Temperatures in the 70s, sun shining, and the trees and flowers begining their colorful display.

As I walked around campus I found the red maples in full magenta bloom, the Bradford pears a luscious white, spirea and forsythia in bloom, and the pink/purple of the loropedalum also in bloom.

I had time to sketch a few of these before heading to the airport for my visit to my mom's.

I have a lorapetalum that is bigger than Rhode Island---I hadn't counted on that when I planted it! So, you are back now? Hope your trip was great. Your sketches are really fun ;D.

Lovely drawings in your blog! It is nice when you are able to draw the world around you. Alas I can't :-(
