Blueberries

I remember the first time my botany professor introduced us to wild blueberries -- I was so EXCITED and they were DELICIOUS! I marked the location and returned days later with my children. We picked TONS of blueberries on a sunny, warm day.

Later that night all of us came down with the worst case of CHIGGERS!!! It was the most intense itching we'd ever experienced!

We decided that store-bought blueberries were good enough!

Lin, You are getting SO good at showing the highlights on objects that you paint! I also just love the composition of your pages! What kind of journal are you using for these paintings? Lovely!!

This is a lovely painting - the one of the corn is also great. I'm surprised you still eat blueberries after your experience 'in the field'. All the best

OMGoodness, what is CHIGGERS? It sounds far from pleasant!! Beautiful blueberries Lin. They are one of my favourite fruits and you've done a great job with that intense blueberry colour. :o)

Those are some delicious looking blueberries, and you did an outstanding job on painting them. So realistic. Highlights perfect!
Leaves are really great too.

So charming, Lin----though the chiggers were definitely NOT! Farmers' market berries are a good alternative to supermarket ones, while not subjecting you to the little red bugs.

Lin, I adore your journal pages and so enjoy reading your stories about your art! They bring me instant happiness! On your blueberry page your mention of your botany class, reminded me of my last botany class and how shocked I was to find out that bananas and tomatoes are BERRIES!
Enjoy!

I am with Terri, what are chiggers? Obviously not something we get down under. Great drawing Lin, I agree your shading is getting so good! I look foreward to more time and fresh fruit.Other Penny

Oh beautiful, mystical blueberries. I've never had chiggers but do have a cartoon of delicious blueberries in the fridge and I'm going to go have some right now! Lovely painting.

Greetings! What a lovely painting. I really like that you have the blue not just in the blueberries but other spots too. :) Looks great!
Also - why is it that Mother Nature cannot LEAVE US ALONE when we want to go out and appreciate her beauty?! Every corner of the planet has its own version of "chiggers" ... sigh...

Cheers!

I'm loving your latest paintings, Lin.

Blueberries are among my favorite of all berries. These are represented quite beautifully.
