Corn

One of my favorite vegetables -- corn on the cob! We roast it on the grill (dampen ears with water, wrap in foil or leave in husks) and roast for approximately 20 minutes. I often freeze the ears in their husks and when cooled, I freeze these so I can have that fresh roasted taste in the middle of winter!

I'd like to thank my friend, Starr, for her invaluable help with shading and shadows. I've been admiring her work for so long, and I appreciate her encouragement!!

this looks great, Lin! I like the feeling of weight the corn has - like you could just reach out and pick it up! and the golden color makes my mouth water - now I'm gonna be hungry for corn on the cob!

What a fabulous page this is Lin! It looks brilliant - the shadowing is great and I love how you've coloured around the whole page. The words look framed. Perfect.

Gorgeous and Delicious. I, too am a fan of Starr. You have done a wonderful job at picking up on the subtle nuances of layered color that make her work so rich and inviting.

Your corn is just beautiful. You captured the softness that I keep trying for in watercolor. Nice composition. I love it and thanks for the tipping on freezing roasted corn while it is in season.
