Bella Trio

Bella Trio

Here's the quick rendering of my sketch done at Bella Trio. I tried to make notes of colors and placement (I needed two mini sketches to do this!) ....

I still find I'm leaving out important information -- shadows, where the light is coming from, etc. Nonetheless, I like the result as a journal entry and hope to do more of this type of sketching/painting for 2007. Still a bit tight -- but loosening up ...

BTW, the massage was wonderful -- very relaxing after a week of company and holiday busyness!

This is wonderful! And what a beautiful setting for a massage!! Ahhhh.
IMHO, there are some subjects that are better when not done TOO loose and this is one of them. I think you've done very well. I like your comments regarding the things you forgot to make note of in the sketch, very helpful reminders.

Oh how lovely! Your painting from the sketch came out just great. You've reminded me how much I need a massage get-away. Michael and I were going to go to Sonoma Mission Inn for a day of hot water soaks and massage and then he caught a cold and we couldn't go. You've inspired me to set up another appointment!
