Candle

I, too, love candles at this time of year. We were in Sweden last December and I was awed and moved by the use of candlelight in public places there, for, among other things, to conserve energy. The near darkness inside was in such harmony with the darkness outside, but with an added and welcome warmth. Your candle sketch contains the same warmth.

I love the colors and the looseness along with the detail!! Wonderful combination.
And I especially like how you did the background -- it really sets the candle off.
Lovely!

Lovely stuff as usual Lin, especially as I am sitting in a drkened house with very few light clothes on waitng for at least 41 degrees and our old airconditioner only does so much. At least it is dry as it is an evaporitive one. No new airconditioner for us this year. Penny Sorry I forgot to log in and had written all this up! Beta.

Very nice - with that wonderful Christmas feel. I don't know where you find the time, gal, but you're very prolific and you just get better and better.

Isn't it funny, but candles suit this time of year for me too. But here I think of the wavering (is that a word?) light they make in the soft summer evening breezes. Love this painting Lin. It GLOWS. :o)

You have such beautiful texture in your paintings, I'm just loving all your backgrounds at the moment! (As well as the subject of course!)
