Christmas - Quiet

Christmas
Originally uploaded by linfrye.
My sisters and mom are now en route to home. We return from the airport before sunup; the house is quiet and I know the let down of so much fun, family, food and holiday preparations will hit me as much as fatigue later this afternoon.

I'll counter this quietness with sketching, finishing photographs, working on grands' journals, and reorganizing my craft closets -- a much procrastinated task.

C is home today and he too will be recuperating. The refrigerator is still full, and after a much-needed trash run, I see naps playing a big part in today's menu.

It was one of the most blessed and joyous holidays of my life, and endings always make me sad.

Lin, I don't know where you found the time to do all these paintings during the Holidays but they are beautiful...this last one is PERFECT, the reflections shine!!! Glad you had such a wonderful holiday...

A beautiful tribute to the holiday. Naps sound really good--I was at the airport before dawn this morning too--my son was going down to LA to help out my sister and her husband who've gone to do some work on my mom's house and try to help remove clutter (a hopeless task).

Gorgeous job on the ornament!! I agree with Tami, don't know how you found time to squeeze in some art -- you ARE amazing!! Ah yes, the aftermath. . . your focus for dealing with it is perfect. While organizing/cleaning/throwing out is a chore we put off, it sure feels good when it's done.

Lin what you described is being felt all around the world I think. I was particularly glum on Christmas day (we'd done our celebrations earlier) because my girls were not with me and it all felt like a bit of an anti-climax. But I'm looking forward to the New Year now with lots of new fresh ideas and days ahead. Love your Christmas ornament. Enjoy your rest. Sounds like you need it!!
