Holiday horn with greens

Holiday horn with greens

I've begun working on some ornaments for this year ... nothing much, a bit crafty with grandchildren's photos. I purchased this small decoration in my craft buying and thought I'd sketch it. In real life, the color is a bit golder ... but when I tried to adjust for gold, I lost the richness of the red ... so here's the compromise!

I love the horn because to me it represents the music this time of year, hymns, carols, orchestra classics -- and afterall, what would the holidays be without the music?

Very nice -- the curves are done so well -- I can't draw worth a darn and my lines go all wonky. I used to have one just like this that I hung up at Christmas -- brings back memories. I am really enjoying your seasonal paintings.
Hugs,
Lorraine

I like it! You are right about the music, it is definately part of the season! Yellows and golds are so hard to scan and keep the other colors true too, I fully understand that problem!

So neat Lin. I love the gracefulness of the horn and the symbolisof holiday music.

What a pretty composition. You could make a really nice holiday card by compiling all your holiday art into a grid and putting it all on one card (though each would make a lovely card on its own).

This is really great! Jana is right, and this one would make a particularly beautiful card.
