Persimmon

Spent most of the day in the kitchen -- made persimmon jam, bread, fruitcake, and even dried a few. I've been nibbling on persimmons too -- eating them like apples ... it's a wonder I haven't turned a fair shade of orange!

I'm down to my last three ...and I'm thinking of a persimmon/rice custard for tomorrow .... hmmmm.....

By George, I think you've got it!! It's perfect!! Lots of yummy looks on this, the spatters, touch of ink, LOVE the bits of green!!
And to top it all off, you were very PRODUCTIVE making goodies you will be able to enjoy for months.

Lin, it is funny to see you working through some of the same w.c. issues that I have to work through. I haven't gotten to the really loose washy stage yet.

What a great job on a very difficult fruit.
We don't have those here but they are very popular in IN. A guy I used to work with would bring a persimmmon pudding to work every fall and share it with us. Went back to IN to get the persimmons. Unusual little fruit. Kudos on your persistence -- it indeed "bore fruit!"

What a lovely persimmon Lin, brings back happy memories of Japan, they eat them and they are wonderful dried too. In the village we used to stay in they strung them out of the 2nd floor windows to dry. I have tried several times to grow them but they dont like our sandy soil.

It's fun to see both of them. They look very 3-day and glowing. I like the addition of the line work around them. So pretty! I painted one a while back but I've never actually eaten one--they scare me, as I'm afraid they'll be slimy and bitter. I don't know when they're ripe.

Wonderful! I love the lines and the way the paint makes the edges fuzzy at the same time - and I just love splatters!
