In Bloom

In Bloom
Originally uploaded by linfrye.
Leaving South Carolina this weekend, I feel like I've left Spring behind. As I drove through that state, I saw Bradford pears, Saucer Magnolias, Azaleas, various cherry trees -- all in vivid bloom.

At home, clearly two gardening zones away, my garden was still hibernating. Still, with temperatures in the balmy 60sF, I found that the rosemary was in beautifiul blue flower, a bit more of the Daphne had opened (and was INCREDIBLY fragrant), and the spirea was just opened.

Spring IS coming!

I love the color and detail in this one and the brilliant light you always seem to capture so well. You're so good at stopping before it's overworked.

Just love all the colors in the vase---perfect use of the watercolor medium! This is luminous and springlike, just as you'd hoped.

Wow, this is amazing. The vase is especially well done with the reflections. You should be really proud of this one.

These happen to be my favorite colors (at least for today). The shadow is as pretty as the base, and I like the colors you used to show the reflection. Nice.

Umm, so nicely shaded on both vase and around it. You seem to be in a "purple" mood this spring!!! It looks good in all your paintings.
