You always do such a wonderful job on flowers, but I think this is your best yet! The veining on the petals is awesome, the pigments are perfect, and you've somehow gotten a depth perception on the ground making the iris in the forefront. Super fantastic job, Lin!!!

I agree! All we flower lovers seem to be painting in synch this Spring. You did a great job on this Lin, I find them extremely beautiful but quite difficult

The details in the iris … its exquisite, demure veins in the petals … (sigh) I must acquiesce of iris beauty now.

*Thank you for sharing your sketches, Lin. I had the most wonderful time looking/reading your blog.

You can tell that you love flowers. This painting is so well observed, and so delicate. I like the veins, and the depth of colour on the folds of the petals.

How fun that we both did irises and they're so different. I really like the way you've drawn this. It's meticulously drawn but still full of personality. Great colors too.

I love your iris, Lin. You have such a gentle, sensitive touch in your work, how do you do that? I have a hunch that is how your nature is too?

Ooh this is one of my favorites -- of the springtime and of YOURS! Lovely shape and shading. Looks like I can reach right out and feel the petals. Super super!
Hugs,
Lorraine
