Those lilacs are so real I can almost smell their fragrance. Beautiful beautiful sketch and painting. You continue to amaze me!!!

A perfect technique for lilacs - the detailed pencil lines make the blossom look "fluffy" just like in real life. I'm tempted to touch it to see if it feels as soft as it looks -- FANTASTIC JOB!!

Lin,
I LOVE this sketch. The detail is fantastic and yet the color application really looks looser. What patience!

I really like the play between the lines and the washes here, cara. You're really honing your own style.

This is my favorite Lin flower painting of all. I really like the detail and shading in the flower and the background color goes really nicely with it.

Beautiful, Lin!I love your approach with just enough detail to give them character and your looseness givs them that lovely softness..wonderful work.
