Oranges

Painted to honor my mom -- So much of this reminds me of her -- she lives in Florida - the land of sunshine. She and Dad, when they owned their own home in Florida, grew oranges and lemons and grapefruits. She LOVES fruit, and is an absolutely 'sunshine-y' lady!

Beautiful composition altogether! Plus the leaves are so good -- detailed drawings and the shading and the different shapes. You should frame this for your mom.

A lovely ink and wash sketch Lin..Love the big leaves in you foreground and the colors of you fruit..great work. I'm so nostalgic lately and reading posts like these, make me take long jouneys into the past..

Beautiful drawing and like the cropped composition too. I live in Florida and sadly not many people have fruit trees anymore. The state chopped them all down a few years ago due to disease and fear that they might spread to the commercial groves.

Now that's what citrus should look like! Absolutely beautiful with that wonderful glowing light you always have in your paintings. You put my leathery lemon to shame!
