Lindsay beat me to saying, it's the wind! Adds action to the drawing. Love the red!

It's so charming the way it is. I love the spikes of green reaching outside the 'frame' too.

Actually I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't have said! :) I was so taken with the beautiful reds and the way you had done the flowers and leaves!

The lantern looks like a home for the 'Wee Folk'! Looking at this drawing, I could almost make up a story to go with it. Love the vibrant red flowers!
Beautiful!

No one would have known if you hadn't said it was supposed to be level! Lovely work, and that's a great colour of red. What is it?

Love the colours, and I agree with the others about the 'lantern in the wind'. Looks good to me! Diane.

First thing I thought of was wind too. And the red flowers are just lovely.

this reminds me of a little Japanese garden! Yes, me too, I think the wind blew when you did this lantern and I prefer it that way, it gives the whole scene character and a life of its own..it gives it interpretation and I like that.

I just bought two lanterns for the garden that are very similar and wasn't sure how I wanted to use them. Now I know. Thanks for the inspiration Lin!

Wow! Glorious colors and beautifully rendered. Who cares if it's level!

The lantern being surrounded by those flowers ... it just exudes charm and magic. Lovely work!

Oh it's perfect! And hanging from that hook it would never hang completely straight for more than a few seconds! Superb colors and detailed lines. One of my favorites.
