Barn

I have 2 more days to get 'closer' to perspective and horses. By now, my stubborn streak is glowing red and I WILL GET THIS RIGHT!! (fingers crossed!) LOL

I think this is very good! Yeah, it could use a little more texture variation in the foreground but I just figured it to be a quick sketch. I love the barn and perspective!

Lin you are so hard on yourself, I guess we are all our worst critics - this is fresh and lovely!!!

I agree with Sandy...we are our own worst critics. Although this work isn't in your usual style, I still like it and it is a good excercise on your journey, preparing for this coming weekend. And I agree with you too, the road is filled with good and bad days and acknowledging the bad ones is necessary for objectivity. Our "flops" serve a bigger purpose than we credit them for!

I like it too but my inner critic must know yours, we are so alike in what we like and don't like. But I really like this and your weekend will be wonderful. Can't wait to see he sketches!

Lin - This did NOT make me cringe. I had to enlarge the image to see the problem you were talking about, but in any case you're right - it's good to share those things that are not our favorites. I just did a talk last night about sketchbook journaling and emphasized that doing the drawing was way more important than creating perfection. We all know that, right?

Barn perspective works a treat - barn is beautiful, you know what you'd like to do to make it more pleasing to your own eye. I think you are going to have a great outing at the farm. I don't go near horses myself - they sense I'm nervous of them.

Lin you are too hard on yourself. I would never ever post anything if I was worried about perspective, the more you do the better you get, well thats the theory anyway, I m not sure I have got better but more things please me than they did. I like this.
