I'm thinking also of other bells: church bells ringing out festivals, hours, ceremonies, mass, life events; door bells, jingle bells, the bells on the ice cream truck; the hand bells making music for the chorus, and the novel "For Whom the Bell Tolls."

I do love bells -- especiall Tinker Bell!

Yes, I remember these bells. You did a great job with the color tones and "roundness" of this bell!

Lovely bell Lin. We still have some hotels and older stores, some old bookstores here in France who make use of these bells...I love them! You have great color and value on your little bell.

Excellent job on this bell. I really like the colors and shading. I work in a college too, and we have one of these bells on the counter in the library.

I do remember these bells as well. One can still find them here and there (especially in old-fashioned hotels).
Lovely painting :)!!

You're so funny, Ms. Tinkerbell! I guess those bells aren't needed anymore because there's nobody there to provide service! Great sketch though!

I remember these bells! When I was a little girl and I'd go into stores with my dad, I secretly hoped that no one would be at the counter so I could ring the bell. lol! Great sketch of this, Lin. Nice work!

Then there is the poem by Edgar Allen Poe! I'm in a watercolor class this week with a teacher who gets our attention with a service bell just like yours. I'm enjoying your blog!
