I really like the out of focus background. It makes the finch stand out! This is definitely a reminder of Summer.

I haven't been on your blog for a while (just your flickr site). All your work is so pure and lovely. I especially like the Quail Roost Farm watercolors. The bird made me think of our outdoor aviary with 8 parakeets. I love the variety of colors and the way they chatter.

Oh, this (and the earlier bits -- the barns, the cows, the sunflower) are all WONDERFUL!

Wow, I wish there were birds like this in Hawaii. The colors are wonderful and contrast very well with the great background!

Lin, I love this. The backyard of my son's house in Charlotte is loaded with trees and birds. One of these little guys kept looking at us through the window like he wanted to come in. We don't see these birds here in Texas so it was such a treat for me that I went out and bought a bird feeder for my son's back yard.

Oh, this is gorgeous, one of your very best, cara! I, too, love goldfinches--they're like blasts of sunlight on wings.
A demain!

What a great picture! The bird looks so natural there on the perch. Lin, what did you use? Is it watercolor or pencils? Whichever, it's beautiful!
