Eno River Festival

Eno River Festival
Originally uploaded by linfrye
Each year the county park, West Point on the Eno, holds an enormous three-day festival over the July 4 holidays. There's crafts, music, food, hiking, tours through the small garden, and wafting (floating) trips down the river -- all to raise funds for securing more property along its tributaries to assure the river's upkeep and purity.

We haven't been to the festival in a few years, so we decided to go this year. No matter what type of weather we've been having, the weather during the festive tends to be steamy -- yesterday was no exception! Temperatures in the low 90s are considered cool in these parts!

We sat under some of the huge walnut trees and listened to folk singing while watching the children and people around us. It was fun -- and very relaxing ....

Wow; you've captured a lot of detail here but with a nice loose summery feel. I can't even think of creating in the heat!!!

GREAT DRAWING!!! We were looking for something like this to go to yesterday. Our town has the typical fireworks and music but I really wanted a little more. One of our dogs turns into a basket case with fire works so we ended up staying home holding him...

It sounds lovely...especially the warm and sunny part. In Sweden it`s raining and raining....and no hope of sun in sight. The only good thing about the weather we are having is that you can stay indoors and do alot of creative stuff... Lovely sketch - you inspire me as always. Take a look at my blog and you will see....

Hugs
Jeanette

This looks like a wonderfully relaxing scene and a great place to hang out and draw (if you could keep from melting!).
