The 'what is so' about my life and art.
Your door series is just wonderful- each one has such a great character about it, and I really like it that you've become more bold with the values in these. The cast shadows in the doorframes are very convincing, and your use of color is beautiful.
Again, you've got the depth down perfectly -- I love how the doors are often inset -- really shows off the thickness of the stone/stucco layers.Another gorgeous one -- details are wonderful.Lorraine
Lin, I'm loveing this series on old doors that you are doing! The colors are perfect! I can see that you like the stones around them, it shows in you paintings! I hope you get to go back soon!
Another unique one and you've done it perfectly -- what a gorgeous arch and the stonework is just perfect. Did the photo ref have the vegetation or were you going through withdrawals from not painting flowers and added it? LOL!
LOL Bren, you made me laugh out loud -- YOU SO know me!! LOL But THIS time, the photo did have some weeds in it - I embellished a bit!! LOL
Your doors are lovely - hope that you will continue them to inspire all of us. Still haven't looked back through my Venice pictures - but I should....
Love your door series - they are really beautiful, and thanks for your kind words on my blog
These would look great framed a set.
There's so much interesting detail in this one. I love the doormat being there! It makes me chuckle.
