I'm still intrigued with large bolders and rocks, and finding this vignette caught my eye early in the day. I waited until the afternoon to paint in order to get a bit more sunshine on the rocks -- though it's hard to tell in this scan.

Really good job on the rocks and the pine tree and the trees in background make a lovely soft, loose backing for the rocks. I'm still blown away by all the detail in yesterday's painting too!

Those rocks are superb. They look like the kind you can stretch out on and bask in the sun. Lovely scene.
