Birdhouse and Honeysuckle

Birdhouse and Honeysuckle

Daily Practice

A busy, paper-filled day upon my return to work. By the time I finished with registering students at 7 pm and made my way to the B&B, my eyes were bleary ....

I worked as quickly as I could on this sketch for my daily practice, and though I know there are dozens of ways I'd improve it, by 9 pm my eyes had given up -- and so this remains a loose interpretation! LOL It has a bit more bright yellow in real life, though ...

I'm afraid there's more paper/computer work in store for me, and since we're supposed to have rain all week, it'll be indoors kinds of things. I'll try to rest my eyes a bit today -- afterall, I have SKETCHING to do!!!

Hi Lin,

Loved the way you used the honeysuckle to frame the birdhouse. As far as rain.... we only had one short shower so we're still hoping....

Oh I adore honey suckle, that sweet aroma wafts for miles - you captured the essence perfectly!

Honey suckle always reminds me of being a kit and sucking out the sweetness from the little blossoms. Nice job on this! I give you a lot of credit for painting when you're sooo tired!

I would be a happy bird if I could make this my summer home! I'm expecting abird to appear in the "doorway" any time!

Sounds like you have your priorities straight -- rest those eyes!! Although, you did a superb job on the bird house and it's surrounding honeysuckle and background color. You are so committed! Good on You!!!

Lorraine

Lin, I am far behind, but wanted to say hi and thanks for your support. Your artwork is beautiful and it is relaxing to catch up a bit with my favorite blogs!

It is such a wonderful sketch Lin! I don't know how you find the time to do all that you do, but I'm glad you find time for your art!

Like the motive of this sketch. Using the complementary colours really makes a great effect. Good job!
