Fall Field

No rain yet - but as I went out this morning to feed the kitties, the smell of rain was in the air -- you know that scent - damp, watery, a hint of moisture ....we're all on 'hope' right now for the rain as more and more of our trees lose leaves before their annual coloring, crops dry in the fields before maturity, and the dust and blowing dirt are choking ... RAIN -- please!!

This piece was painted a few weeks ago from a photo reference ... I worked on it again last weekend to give it richer contrasts and I like it better now than I did when I first finished it. It reminds me of some of our park trail heads ...

I'm off to hear a lecture today on plants that fight infection ... should be interesting ...

Hope your Sunday is terrific!
