Field of Queen Annes Lace and Chickory Flowers

Daily Practice

Even in Kentucky while visiting my friend, Lorraine, the car-stopper for me was a wonderful field of Queen Anne's Lace and Chickory. We were heading to the store or another town early one morning, when I spotted the field and thought we're return to it after our trip. When we did, the chickory had disappeared! We returned to the field the following morning -- and -- the chickory was there!! I had forgotten that these wonderful blue flowers close at night!! GEEZ!!!

But what a wonderful sight in the early morning!

Oh this brings back such wonderful memories and what a gorgeous painting you've made of that little patch on the road near my house. It's just fortunate the city was behind in cutting the roadsides or we might not have seen it at all. Chicory flowers have always been my favorite roadside flower and over the years I've tried many ways to preserve them with no luck. However, I never tried painting them LOL. Thanks for the memories dear friend.
Hugs,
Lorraine
