I really think that scanners do not like yellows -- it's taken me quite a while to get this scanned so it looks 'close' to the original -- sigh ... anyway -- in real life, the sunflower petals are bright yellow/gold and the leaves are a bit more blue and not as garish as they look on screen ...

Mercy is it HOT! Yesterday temps reached 93F and today will be even hotter. Already it feels like those hot, humid, difficult days of AUGUST -- and May isn't over yet ...

Busy, busy days at work that make painting afterwards a bit of a challenge ...We've a holiday weekend coming up - and that should be a good break for everyone.

Have a great day -- and please remember to vote!

Awesome!!!!!!!!! I love the composition and the coloring...just perfect!

We finally seem to have summer. I got in a few hours at the beach today after painting poppies in my friend's garden!!! I'll post that when I get a photo taken of it. Hope you enjoy the day!

Oh you are such a fussy thing LOL. I think the painting is excellent. I just love the way you've painted it -- such an unusual and unique way to "pose" the flower. The leaves look terrific to me and the yellow couldn't be prettier. This is just the kind of thing Sterling Edwards talks about -- don't just paint a sunflower -- paint one so someone will notice it because it's different -- you've put your own spin on it. BRAVO.

Very hot here too; I guess that's why all the storms. But after such a long dreary winter and spring, I am trying not to complain one bit (trying, trying)!

Voted.
Big hugs,
Lorraine

It's beautiful and I love sunflowers. And I always have trouble with yellow too. My scanner in Wis. is terrible while the one in AZ is wonderful.
