We are in good shape---and sincerely thank you for all your prayers and good thoughts. We lost power several times, lost a couple of trees - but in all -- extraordinarily fortunate.

Our prayers now are for the rest of the eastern coast, especially those in the direct path of Hurricane Irene - New York, Rhode Island, Boston. The eye of the storm is expected to pass over New York in about an hour.

This painting is based on photos I took last week on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina and photos I have seen on the news yesterday. Our coast has taken a hard hit - most especially from flooding - from the Sound side - and wind. Thousands of folks are without power. I am so grateful, even more now, for the time we had there the week before.

I have no news about the college since power may still be out. Our IT department shut down the network entirely, so it'll be tomorrow before we can access the damage.

Again, thank you for your prayers and thoughts and they continue for those still being impacted by the storm.

Thank you too for continuing to vote, espcially for those without power!

PLEASE VOTE!

I'm so glad you are safe, Lin. This storm looks like such a huge life changer for some locations. Here in Florida we breathed a large sigh of relief to see the track change, but felt torn that others might suffer.

Your painting captures such energy - I love that transparent green glow in the crashing wave and the frothy white textures...this is such an amazing piece!

So happy to hear all is well with you.
You so wonderfully captured the strength and power of the ocean.

So glad you are okay and didn't get much damage. It looks like mostly everyone just got rain/flooding but no real damage. I'm thankful for that.
I love this painting. It really captures the power of the water.

Triple WOW. This one is even more incredible than the first one. You certainly captured the sound and fury -- the foam is stupendous and the colors -- oh the colors are sublime. And I don't even care for water paintings but you are converting me LOL.

So happy you are safe and sound and so happy to see that Helen has been downgraded. I've slept away the day after overdoing yesterday so am not up to date on the weather news but will be shortly. Hoping that the rest of the country did not suffer any loss of life.

Big hugs,
Lorraine
