Sunflower - Not too long now!

8" x 12" Watercolor
Arches 140#CP

The weather, as well as the time, has really switched to spring. With temps yesterday reaching the low 70s and beautiful sunshine, I suppose I will have to give up my hope for one last snowfall and embrace the early season.

We've had company most of the weekend, been to a seasonal yoga class, enjoyed dinner with friends .... my sweet husband brought home some sunflowers that rivaled the glow of the weekend... and their cheery brightness inspired more sunflower paintings ...

This small one is the practice for a larger work ....

Hope your week is magnificent!

What an unusual painting of the flower. I love it. Sort of like it's in direct sunlight and sort of like it's an abstract and sort of like an impressionistic treatment. I know I keep saying this, but you DO continue to amaze me Lin -- your talent grows by leaps and bounds and is always taking a new turn.
Positively gorgeous.

We also had two days of sun and high temps and today started with heavy rains which will continue all day.Our high will be 40. YUK. I guess we pay for the glorious days!!

You are so good at giving a new spin to your paintings. Well done!!!

I am finally home. I think it is warmer here than it was in Myrtle Beach for most of the time we were there. lol

This is beautiful. I love the mix of tight and loose painting techniques-it conveys a wonderful sense of movement-and the colors are just lovely.
