Fall Leaves in Alcohol Ink

Alcohol Ink
Yupo Paper

The fall weather is fast upon us ... we've had cool temps all week as well as rainy, overcast days, making summer a memory, despite a warming trend later this week. Leaves have quickly turned to yellow and tarnish, and as yet only the sumac and dogwoods have put on any kind of scarlet. Our peak for color, though, doesn't happen for at least another few weeks, so we're all keeping our fingers crossed.

In the meantime, I'm using the intense colors of ink to summon fall .... and loving the brightness and the flow of ink across yupo.

Hope you have a great day!

Oh WOW. Gorgementous!!! It's so beautiful it needed it's own coined word. If we can't have our much loved brilliant foliage yet, we can at least look at this and your other alcohol paintings and derive the same pleasure.

The detail in this one is incredible and so different from the others. Can't wait to play with this again. I've only used water colors on it, as I recall, so am excited about finally opening my Adirondack alcohol inks and playing!

Thank you for another inspiring and beautiful painting Lin.
Hugs,
Lorraine

Wow Lin - this is so beautiful...the ink really does well on Yupo paper. I have never tried it but I need to get busy. I don't think our colors are going to peak this year...no frost and the rain is causing them to fall before they have color. Hope you do have a lovely peak. Take care and have a great week-end.
