Travel Journal - Tree Spirit

Travel Journal -- Decided to cut our trip short due to all the rain predicted and cold --- simply got tired of the rain ... But we are both grateful for a safe trip, and lots of sightseeing and experiences in those sun and rainfree days ...

From St. Simon's, one of tree spirits .... BTW, this was done while Charles was driving the RV, along the bumpy I-95 section of South Carolina -- and with a waterbrush -- talk about a challenge ... lol

Travel Journal - Paynes RV Park

Travel Journal -  we left Florida early to try to lessen our drive to New Orleans in the expected storm.  Stopped at Payes RV Park in Theodore, Alabama while the wind and rain met us.  This is  a view out our front window of the pond and wet trees.

Travel Journal - Torryea State Park

Travel Journal - Bristol, Fl.  We were told by the campers next to us that 2 years ago this state park, Torryea, was stunningly beautiful.  But in November 2018, the gulf coast, including this Park, was devastated by Hurricane Michael.  This sketch was the sunrise view from our RV window showing the remaining and broken trees.

Travel Journal - Reedy Creek

Travel  Journal- We are in Old Town, FL at a lovely campground on the Suwanee River.  Yes, the song has been playing in my head since we got here....lol.  There's  a beautiful 1500 ft. boardwalk  thru the wetlands to the River itself....amazingly peaceful.  Another cold front here...folks tell me this has been a most unusual winter.. Colder and rainier.

Haven't  had a chance to sketch yet...this sketch is from Reedy Creek...the park we just left.

Travel Journal - Reedy Creek

Travel Journal - After driving through miles of citrus groves, our camp area at Reedy Creek in the Lake Wales State Forest, is a mix of scrub pines, cabbage palettes, live oaks, and grasses.  Very quiet and very different from the lush vegetation of Big  Swamp.
