When I returned home from running errands today, the bright lemon-butter yellow of my forsythia just about blinded me. It's in full bloom and just getting its green leaves.
Wow! What a great painting on the blue background. Looks like your forsythia is doing quite well. We planted 2 here, but they aren't too big yet. Did take some photos of what did bloom, have yet to try sketching them. We're on the borderline of forsythia here. They require cold weather to bloom properly and where we are located, it can go either way. It usually doesn't stay cold long enough for them, but hopefully we'll get some bloom. Donn
Between the forsythia, the redbuds and those everpresent(too much of a good thing) Bradford pears, we've got a whole lotta blossom going on down here ;D. Love the yellow against blue blossoms you painted, Ms. L!
Wow. I have to get me some coloured paper to paint on. That looks amazing. Just beautiful Lin, and I can almost smell the spring air as you describe it. :o)
I love your spring flowers, we are in the early part of autumn but nothing is turning yet, my summer flowers are almost overwhelming. We dont have a very cold winter so spring isnt as interesting as it is with you. Gorgeous flowers Penny in Sout Australia

ReplyDeleteReminds me of Tennessee. I love forsythia. Unfortunately cannot grow it in Southern California - does not get cold enough here.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bit of spring! They are all my fave colors = I just bought fabric to slipcover the sofa in that exact shade of blue.
