This image (photo reference) reminded me of my work this week in this 100F+ heat -- moving water and hoses from one flower bed to another. The extra dripping spiggots matched the drip of sweat from my face!
But this sketch was a bit of refreshment that included a small catch of water.
I love the contrast between the hot colours of the flowers and the cool blue of the water - I hope it cools down for you soon

ReplyDeleteLin, I so lick your style. You didn't draw just the fawcet - you drew the surroundings. The drop of water still clinging to the fawcet is great.

ReplyDeleteSomething's telling me you are comfortable with the color BLUE. I really like how you can manipulate it (i.e. your incredible ice cubes, further down)!

I got distracted yesterday before I could comment on this - I think it's gorgeous - just that touch of darkness or working in the centre, it really catches the eye!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorites of your sketches. It has lots of values contrast, lots of negative space, very clear linework, and an interesting variety of textures, not to mention my favorite orange/blue complementary scheme. Just lovely, sweet Lin.
