the drip

But this sketch was a bit of refreshment that included a small catch of water.

  1. I love the contrast between the hot colours of the flowers and the cool blue of the water - I hope it cools down for you soon

  2. That little bit of blue nestled in amongst the other colors just sparkles! Wonderful job this Lin and it depicts the heat we are all having so well.

  6. I love the way the flower is leaning in to grab a sip. Nice drawing and use of color. Here is hoping we all get a break soon.

  7. Lin, I so lick your style. You didn't draw just the fawcet - you drew the surroundings. The drop of water still clinging to the fawcet is great.

  9. Love this one it looks nice and cool, even if it is so hot, something I am enjoying atthe moment is NOT having to water the garden, although we are having little enough rain.

  10. Something's telling me you are comfortable with the color BLUE. I really like how you can manipulate it (i.e. your incredible ice cubes, further down)!
Thank you for your encouraging comments as well!
I'm looking forward to your next drawing / painting.

  11. I got distracted yesterday before I could comment on this - I think it's gorgeous - just that touch of darkness or working in the centre, it really catches the eye!

  12. This is one of my favorites of your sketches. It has lots of values contrast, lots of negative space, very clear linework, and an interesting variety of textures, not to mention my favorite orange/blue complementary scheme. Just lovely, sweet Lin.
