I've been spending a lot of thought-time on my art goals for 2007. Here's one of them -- to sketch looser using more transparency and 'light.' I want more of my sketches to have a painterly look -- somewhere between the details I crave and the looseness of Charles Reid.
Lovely lilacs! Yep, you are keeping the loose look and I LOVE the deep pigments on this!!
ReplyDeleteThe lilac itself borders on abstract! Now that's a neat effect. My eye is also drawn to the bottom of the vase, which you kept light -- hmmm, very nice!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous color Lin. I could see you heading toward this goal for awhile and you are really making progress.
ReplyDeleteI agree, you have made such amazing progress this year! My prediction is Charles Reid will be outdone by the end of January :)!!
ReplyDeleteThese are quite lovely, Lin. And yes, I agree, Charles Reid is grand, and don't you love his loose style? This is a whole lot more confident and free than when you started, aren't you pleased with it?
