Painted to honor my mom -- So much of this reminds me of her -- she lives in Florida - the land of sunshine. She and Dad, when they owned their own home in Florida, grew oranges and lemons and grapefruits. She LOVES fruit, and is an absolutely 'sunshine-y' lady!
And a fine honoring it is, Lin. The highlights are really great.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful composition altogether! Plus the leaves are so good -- detailed drawings and the shading and the different shapes. You should frame this for your mom.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lorraine
really like this -- simple and elegant looking but really much intricate upon further study. looks great! lucky mom!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, colurful sketch Lin!
ReplyDeleteLin this is simply gorgeous, the tight frame really enhanses the lemons- I agree you should frame this.
ReplyDeleteA lovely ink and wash sketch Lin..Love the big leaves in you foreground and the colors of you fruit..great work. I'm so nostalgic lately and reading posts like these, make me take long jouneys into the past..
ReplyDeleteA beautiful painting, perfect composition too!
ReplyDeleteLin I am catching up with some of your lovely paintings (I have been away)and I have to say that they are lovely, your one of daisies is superb. Lovely to see such quality stuff.
ReplyDeleteWOOWWWW Lin this is your best one ever i think...its just lovely...like the highlights and the painting...AWESOME girl just AWESOME
ReplyDeleteThis looks lovely, really crisp looking, I like it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful drawing and like the cropped composition too. I live in Florida and sadly not many people have fruit trees anymore. The state chopped them all down a few years ago due to disease and fear that they might spread to the commercial groves.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love the effect of those strong lines and the cropped composition.
ReplyDeleteNow that's what citrus should look like! Absolutely beautiful with that wonderful glowing light you always have in your paintings. You put my leathery lemon to shame!
