I am still enchanted with doors ... to me they're portals (like eyes) to the souls of the owners ... and for these older doors, a link to the past, history written in peeling paint, old stones, aged wood, and the companionship of green weeds ....
OH yes! old doors. They have so much character. I think it's the subtle colouring of your wall that shows such lovely aging. The shadow on the door is perfection I'm understanding the depth of that old doorway by seeing the shadow cast in rich colour on that thick wooden door.
I think you should do a series of doors Lin as they are exceptional. It's your ability to see the wonderful detail in them and the sensitive use of colors that make them outstanding! Love it!
This is boldly drawn, and I love the light and shade, the reflections, the colours in the wall, the greenery tickling the foot of the door ... I really do think your door series is worth making prints from.
They say we do best at what we love and I have to say that you really do old doors to perfection!
