Purple Iris

Watercolor
Arches 140#CP

It's that time of year when iris stand like sentinels throughout my property --- purple, white, pink, gold.

Feathery petals crown emerald batons as the vernal season plays its music over the land.

Happy Weekend!

Oh one of my favorite flowers -- purple iris and I love your version of them Lin. So soft and dreamy and yet so quickly recognizable. A lovely painting. So glad you have the inspiration of the real thing to make this beautiful painting.
Hugs,
Lorraine

I am so looking forward to seeing all the flowers bloom here. This is lovely!!! I think purple irises are just gorgeous.

I am being daring and have planted my impatience in my window boxes. I told Susan and she told me I should wait...but I just couldn't. lol I've been waiting for springlike conditions for too long. If they forecast that the temps are going to drop too low I'll move them inside for the night and morning.

Enjoy the rest of the day!
