Neat, Miss Lin! I can't wait to see the difference between on-the-spot work and practice work--should be fascinating!

  3. And a fine cow she is too! trying to sketch them live is hard! It think doing it like Laura did, bits and peices, may be the key as the darn things keep moving...

If the "real" one is half as good as the practice it's going to be great! Hope you have a fun day.

  11. She's a beauty, this cow! You're going to have fun meeting them face to face and they are actually great models, so you'll have a great time sketching them while they "pose" for you. Enjoy it, I'm also looking forward to seeing the results!

  12. Lovely cow. I do love cows, though I must say I'm not too fond of dairy farms unless they're small scale and organic...

    Enjoy your day!

  13. Your cow is wonderful! Such a personable cow, she looks as if she _thinks_ she likes you, but is a little unsure. Looks like it could be a difficultangle to get, but you did, She looks very real!

  14. She's just beautiful - what an adorable face. You've done a fantastic job on the eyes!! I will have to disagree with Teri -- this is a CALIFORNIA cow. LOL! We have the funniest TV commercials here about the Wisconsin cows leaving the cold climate and coming to California--some of them get foot massages (aka earthquakes)
Can't wait to see what your plein air ones look like - you're certainly off to a grand start!!

What is it about cows that make them so interesting? I love cows! What's not to love? For a first, you did a great job. When I lived in PA, the city of Harrisburg held a contest and the winning artists got to paint life size concrete cows that were then placed throughout the city. Then there were cow tours so people could view them. Can't wait to see your other cows.
