I used a photo reference for this EDM challenge since there is barely a bit of shade at my workplace! I loved the scene -- it so reminded me of John Denver's long ago song, "Cool and Green and Shady." Our temps have been in the high 90sF, and so sketching and painting THIS particular scene helped me feel a smidgen more refreshed!
Don't know if you have taken the time to go back and look at some of your earlier stuff (actually, not even 8 months ago) and looked at the difference in your techniques and abilities; it is AMAZING! I know I keep saying that; but I am just so PROUD of you! This and the drawing from yesterday are again OUTSTANDING!
ReplyDeleteLove to be under that shadow!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful Lin, you really captured the foliage perfect;u which I find so hard- I can feel the cool breeze under these trees but where is the hammock?
ReplyDeleteWow! I love this - the foliage, the shadows, the background - very well painted (and quite difficult to do well.) I does look cool and inviting; you can practically hear the breeze rustling the leaves.
ReplyDeletelovely view of the oaks....so nice and shady...you would think that where a plant person works would be shady!:>
ReplyDeleteMajestic trees Lin! And a wonderful job on the shadows under them...it looks so cool and inviting, just right for a cool watermelon at late afternoon...
ReplyDeleteRonell
Lin, this is gorgeous! The perfect song to go with it!!
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful. The colors you've used really invoke a sense of cool and shade.
ReplyDeleteThis came out beautiful, I love all the greens. :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, this is really just perfect. Way to go Lin!!!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your sketches and imagine how green the whole place must be...compared to our dry desert we live in here. I love your greens!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Lin! I particularly love the foliage on the trees ~
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scene. Your trees are absolutely 3-dimensional. I agree with Tami -- I glanced back at some of your earlier work, which was good, and you should definitely be proud of where you are now. -- Linda
ReplyDeletegorgeous! overall, it just looks so inviting!
ReplyDeletegreat! would prefer to sit unter the trees than going to work ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe shade on the grass is amazing. You really captured it. It is a beautiful, peaceful scene. Great work.
