Abstract Landscape Gone Rocky

Half Sheet
Arches 140#CP

This abstracted landscape was done for a class taught by Karlyn Holman. The lesson is from one of her books and involved a lot of wet into wet, tossing of paint, finding and and losing edges, layering, unryu paper and more.

My landscape turned pretty 'rocky' -- but the general principles of abstraction and realism were applied ... including the addition of landscape elements such as lines and shapes. It was fun -- took a lot longer than I thought-- but fun! I've already started a second one more scenic in nature than form ....

Today we're off to the first day of Jerry's Art of the Carolinas. We have classes from 9 am until 8 pm tonight, with little time between ...

I'll be catching up next week it seems!

Have a great day!

Seems like doing a puzzle, Lin. So beautiful, but such a complex weaving of sharp and soft edges and colors.
