The cold of the last two days - unseasonable here in the piedmont of North Carolina - has me thinking, and hoping for spring. Right now, spring promises to be rather dull since our drought continues and water restrictions prohibit any outdoor watering in so many of our counties ... so here at the Arboretum, we're looking at indoor planting. We've planted a few crocus, daffodils and tulips in pots in hopes that they'll brighten the chilly days ahead, as we continue praying for much needed rain ...

I love your crocus -- I remember they were always the first to bloom here, and the first to get hit with the late frosts but I love their little brave buds pushing up through the cold soil. The shading on yours today is particularly nice.

Lorraine

Your Crocus are so soft and delicate. Hopefully, you'll get a late rainy season that will at least help off set some of the drought.
Your pot of lemons and limes are soft and beautiful too.
Your corcus is stunning, Lin. Makes me misty eyed at such a beautiful reminder of Spring.
Fingers crossed for your much needed rain.
So delicate-looking and oh so springy!! Beautiful.
oh, you're thinking crocus already? A pox on you for that! We are just beginning winter and have no such thoughts yet! But your crocus are quite lovely...
Gorgeous work Lin, the background seems to radiate light!
