Edible Marigolds

Edible Marigolds

I sat beside these gem marigold (Tagetes tenuifolia) and sketched them as they competed with the ready-to-bloom daylilies in my herb bed. Their bright yellow and orange flowers decorated the small salad I put together from a volunteer leaf lettuce plant and some sharp-tasting red lettuce topped by bits of basil, agastache, lemon balm and sage. LIn, I hope you are feeling better. You have an amazing capacity to make art when you are sick!!!hahah All I want to do is hole up and groan.

How do you find the energy to do art when you are sick? Take care. Love the marigolds... they brings such sun to a dull area.

You are the master of getting light in your paintings. This one just exudes light and warmth...and I noticed the one below it is literally about light!

This is so delicate and detailed, so light and airy; and as always,so well done. I love it! Not sure I'd want to eat them though!!
