It was hard to get going yesterday, but thank heavens, it was somewhat quieter and the slower pace helped me rest from a long week.
I got home last night and spent some time on Google maps, dreaming as I often do, of Italy. I found this charming scene of San Gimignano and decided to paint it using the impressionistic style I've been learning from Allan Kirk. It was fun --!
I got a call very early this morning from my dear daughter.... her children are sick, her husband overseas, and she needs my help. I'll be heading to South Carolina early this morning to help her get the children to the doctor's as well as giving her some moral and physical support.
I'll be offline until calm is restored for both our families....
In the meantime, have a great weekend and I'll catch up as soon as I can!

So sorry to hear your grandchildren are sick. I'm sure your daughter is relieved and thankful to know that the calvary is on the way! Hope they're soon recovered and things settle down for all.
Beautiful painting!!
Oops... make that "cavalry" !!!!
Guess I need to go for another cup of coffee this morning!

Oh what a beautiful painting and that touch of purple with the flowers just makes it!
I'm so sorry to hear about the grands being sick. I know how hard it must be to be alone while hubby is serving his country -- two little ones sick at once. Yikes.
Safe trip to and from and don't get sick!!
Hugs,
Lorraine
