Sunflowers

Sunflowers! How they remind me of Italy -- fields of yellow mirroring the bright sunlight of the place. Cheerful -- bright! They make me smile!

(I decided to keep the background white (though the paper tends to scan a bit gray) so that the shadow and highlights show up better.)

Lin,
Love all of your flowers and herbs. I want your garden! The colors look great and I love the ceramic vase reflections.

Lin,
Your shadowing and use of tones is just taking off! This is BEAUTIFUL. The highlights in the tomato and garlic is dead on too! Perfect!!!

Those sunflowers are so bright and cheerful !!!!!! I have a huge bouquet of them on my dining room table right now, just love them.

You did a great job with this, I like the blue of the vase, it lends a lot to the overall composition.

Lovely soft texture and rich colors, Lin. So very summery.

The tomato and garlic are wonderful (I can tell you love your fruit and veg!) If you were a flower Lin, I've no doubt you would be a sunflower!!

Fantastic job with the shadow and highlights on the bottle. They are not easy to do and you did both brilliantly in this piece. Such a gorgeous contrast of colours - one of my favourites I think. This one made me SMILE!
