My hydrangeas are FINALLY in bloom! I tried to capture the dance of sunlight on the porch rails against the green and blue/purple of the flowers. SIGH!!!!
Sometimes, you just realize you need a lot more PRACTICE! LOL
Lin, you are REALLY getting color down so great! I think you have gotten that sunlight thru those beautiful flowers. Love the porch too, it's perfect. I just love it!
Oh my, Lin, you've really done a wonderful job catching the sunlight and shadow on the porch railing especially! I think the trick is the play of light against very dark and warm against cool -- but I have a hard time with it, too! You've captured a special beautiful moment here!
LIN! LIN! LIN!These are SO wonderful! I love the rail fence, it is so clear and clean, the tree, and the Coneflower and Butterfly, perfect, the Hydrangeas, they are just all so exqusite!!! I cna't believe how far you have come in one year!!! Happy Anniversary!!! Congratulations!!!
Yeah but they are still far better than the ones from last year...and Teri is right the color is perfect...and at least you have one...mine is still at the nursery...I want a hydrangea...preferably a whole row of them...
I can see the play of light perfectly! What a complex thing to try to portray---all those verticals, the complicated hydrangea mopheads, PLUS the effects of dappled light. You've done beautifully.
Fabulous Lin!! The light and shadows on the railing is SUPER and the colors on the hydrangeas are marvelous!! I honestly don't know how you could improve on this. It's quite nice as is.
Hi Lin, your paintings are stunning, congratulations! Looking back down your blog... I think the Lily you did is gorgeous, so soft and realistic. My blog is one year old too, Glad I stuck it out.
This was not one of those days; you did a great job; I can see the blue reflecting on the boards on the porch -- which is very well done and the flowers are stupendous! Lorraine

Wow! It's fabulous, the light is wonderful! Sitting out there with some homemade lemonade would be just perfect!
You succeeded! IT seemed obvious to me.

Lin, everyone has said it all! Really great. Love the rail fencing colors too. Seems like watercolors are working well for you.
