Though the azaleas are just beginning to open in my part of North Carolina, this sketch was painted from a photo I took last year around this time at Duke Gardens.
My home, like my work, commitments are pretty time-consuming these days, but I'm hoping to get out to the gardens as soon as I can for more inspiration and photo references!

Pretty, Lin. Nice composition. Hope you can relax in the garden soon.
I like the softness of the flowers against the hardness of the rocks. Very nice.
Oh how lovely; the rocks, the flowers and especially the trees against the sky. The rail fence is a very nice touch too. Your daily offerings make my day, every day!
Hugs,
Lorraine
I can't wait to get out into the garden either, Lin...the weather has been so cold that I have only done a teeny bit. Lovely azaleas, I love them too(in the garden as well as on your painting) they just fill thier corner with abundant colour, even if they're just white!

Again a lovely spring time sketch, this looks like it came right out of a story book.
