Clematis

The flowers continue to bloom with all the rain we've been having this spring. Though this image was painted from a book reference, our own clematis, large as dinner plates, continue to brighten the Arboretum gardens.

There are more than 300 varieties of clematis with flowers from white to purple to pink and flower sizes from silver dollars to saucers .... The one blooming by our mobile office is a Nelly Moser - pale purple coloring over white petals, and folks always remark about how huge the blossoms grow --

Hope your Friday is grand! Enjoy some flowers too!

Oh Lin, the flowers themselves are gorgeous but oh my, that background. The multi-shaded and multi-colored leaves and flower buds set off the flowers perfectly. And the detail on the flowers, along with the brilliant colors makes a gorgeous painting. Another flower beauty!
Big hugs,
Lorraine
