Coreopsis and Batchelor Buttons

This field of pink coreopsis and batchelor buttons (from a photo reference) was so cheerful, I had to sketch it!

I tried to keep the colors light enough and loose enough, yet show the various values.

A background of green leaves can be a challenge!

Beautiful! I love Coreopsis, though it is mostly yellow here and grows wild on the sides of roads. :o) This is a lovely composition. Looks like you enjoyed working on it too. :o)

At first I did not understand the title- I am pretty unfamiliar with plants:/-but now I see...flowers...beautiful flowers! Very nice!

Lin are you sure the pink ones arnt cosmos? They look very like the wonderful fielsd I saw of cosmos in Japan. Any way love the composition

I've only seen yellow coreopsis -but I guess when you draw, you can make anything any color you want.
