While my irises at home are barely buds, 80 miles south of me, Rebecca has been filling her vases with these purple beauties for the last week. This week I sketched one of her smaller arrangements (on sketch paper).
Love your iris! I miss Tennessee where you saw them all the time...being the state flower and all. And this year Texas is go dry, even bulbs are having a hard time coming up!
Lin, Beautiful Iris', and a challenge to paint. You have done a great job. I love them too. Mine are also blooming now as well, but when ours are done, yours will be starting and we can envy you.
Lin, All of your watercolour flower studies are just beautiful! I love the intensity of colour in this and the pansies, and also the delicacy of the apricot/pink blossom. Really beautiful.

Really nice - are you using colored pencils/watercolor pencils?
Lovely irises, Lin, and I love how you captured the glass texture on the vase.
Absolutely elegant, my friend!

I miss my iris show in the spring also... back home in New York.
I like the curvy movement of the leaves that you achieved! Good job!
