This concrete little girl sits among Homestead Verbena, Ornamental grasses, and a Lacecap Hydrangea. I love that she's reading among the flowers.
Me? I spent the day spraying and pulling weeds! It's a RARE event for a gardener to actually SIT in her garden.
At least this little statue reminds me that I SHOULD!!
As I sit and sketch, Sunny rests in the grass, keeping me company.

What a lovely entry, Lin, so peaceful and contented. I'm surprised that your lacecap hydrangea and your verbena can be so close to each other. My lacecap can't take much sun (or so I thought when I planted it in a shady bed!) I think of verbenas as being full sun flowers. I'm going today to Big Bloomers to get stuff to put in my new beds---we'll have to compare notes ;D.
Have a wonderful Mother's Day.

I like these simple little treasures, both the reflection of the moment and the drawings to go with them. (Great job on Sunny in this one)!
Happy Mother's Day!!! Hope your have a wonderful one!
HUGS!

Thank you for the comment on my blog! I love your cat drawing he looks so relaxed. Happy Mother's Day to you.
Lin - This is a lovely entry! Gardens are very special! (AND a LOT of work!) but, they bring such joy -- as do cats! Thanks for the post!
Lin -- I'll bet you have a beautiful garden! Maybe we should schedule a sketchcrawl at YOUR house one of these days!
:-D Great work on these sketches.
Lin it is so true. Gardners are often so busy creating they forget to just sit and enjoy. I bought a new garden ornament yesterday. You've prompted me to think I should find five minutes and go and draw it. :o)
You have caught the sleepiness/comfortableness of the cat so delightfully.
I love the bottom one best of Sunny in the garden, looks so contented, wonderful! :))
