When I was working on Phase II of the Arboretum, we had to install two fire hydrants in order to be approved for occupancy of our mobile unit and greenhouses. Imagine my SHOCK when I not only needed an expensive fire hydrant to protect a metal frame and plastic, but I needed TWO of them because the water pressure was so low in the area. Here's one of those hydrants ...my $30,000 nightmare!

ACK! Who would have thought that they were that expensive! Great story to go with your great picture, though ;-)
And Taylor is gorgeous -- but you already knew that, didn't you!
I love the story and the sketch is great!! Only you!
Oh my. That is quite an expensive lawn ornament!
They should be protected themselves - in a special little house - since they're so valuable. Very nice drawing
My god! YOu could go on a grand tour of Europe for that amount of $$! Thanks for the illio and story
Goodgrief what a horrible $$$ shock! But you did their cost justice with this drawing. :o) I think it's great!
Lin, at that price it should be classified as a work of art! And now it is - great sketch!
Good grief. All I can say is that you managed to render the hydrant with loving detail, given how conflicted you must feel.
