Cates Farm Old Chicken Coop

great composition! I like the tree on the left...it gives me something to do: move the branches a bit as I walk by and up to the coop where I'm going to explore and gather eggs! You are doing a great job with all these farm sketches!

Another good one Lin. Reminds me of my youth in Vermont. Sounds like you got plenty of pics to draw from. I too like the peeling paint and feeling of age.
Hugs,
Lorraine

You are doing so well on these old buildings, Lin!! I LOVE the peeling paint -- execellent job! -- and I agree with Marta, I like the bit of branch on the left, if it were more it would take away from the building.

I really like the tree in front of it like that! I love these plein air sketches of yours. You're doing really well - I think it's much harder to paint on site.

Really nice compositon, cara. The central placement of the image here helps convey the tranquility of the scene.
Wonderful job.

Lin, you've really done some wonderful work lately, with great variations in value and brushwork. These are all just SUPER!!!

It's even better for knowing the difficulties of the conditions you are working in! In that sort of heat, my hands sweat and warp the paper - uggh! I know what you mean about the tree - I find that edging of foliage very hard to get right.

You did a great job on the siding. I really get the peeling paint. It's really tough to stay focused in that heat.
