This painting is based on a photo I found. I fell in love with the colors and the deep shadows, and especially the water!! LOL We had about an hour of rain yesterday -- I have to admit, I ran out and danced in it, hoping to evoke the rain makers to continue sending rain .... but alas, the sun returned.
Still, I'm grateful for the bit of rain that settled the dust and gave a drop of water to the wildlife.

Rain, precious rain. You don't realize how wonderful it is unless you don't see it for a while...
I love fall ... your colors are right on. Yesterday on my walk I saw piles of leaves that had fallen. I always have the urge to run and play in them ... fortunately I controled myslelf and no one was the wiser that I'm a little "off".
Oh this one is just gorgeous too (although I'm still partial to my favorite birches -- so well done by you). I love the colors and the shading in this one -- I just showed this to Bruce and his friend Ward and Ward said "She did that in just one day???" I just love it!!
And I'd like to have seen you dancing in the rain!o
Hugs,
Lorraine
What a beautiful scene!! I think you should paint one of you dancing in the rain-the vision of this cracking me up. But I understand what you mean after so long without that precious rain.
Lin, you can cheerfully take as much rain as you like from here! For the last couple of days and nights it's been simply pouring in a major way! The kind of rain that thunders on your roof! Today it's sunny - for the moment.
Your colours on this painting are awesome. This is a true painting of Fall.
Gorgeous!
