Work has intensified with workshops back to back yesterday, our 14th wedding anniversary today, my grandson's minor surgery (today too), and meetings .... so I'm dependent on photos for my daily sketches.
I chose a pomegranate because these 'love apples' were a big part of our family holidays. Mom would serve them at Thanksgiving -- I loved all those juicy red seeds! When chatting with my sis about them, she gave me all sorts of information about their health benefits .... but I just think they taste good.
I saw my first pomegranate tree in Raleigh several years ago -- planted as a street tree. It had the most beautiful flower! The fruits won't be available in our stores until November ... but I'll be keeping a look-out for them!

Great job! You've got some neat lost edges on the leaves which really makes them look like they are moving.
Have you ever tried Pomegranite Jelly? Not a store bought item, but sometimes it is at craft fairs. Excellent stuff!!
That red is auch a beautiful bright color Lin. Wonderful on all of it. I love pomegranates also--found some in AZ on a tree.
Happy anniversary!! What a lucky man Charles is to have you! This is such a gorgeous sketch, colorful as can be. I hope your grandson's surgery went well.
Oh, a pomegranate! A lovely one indeed!
Love the pomegranate! Every fall I buy three...one for each daughter, and I have been doing since they were small (now in their 30's and 40's). I have never seen a tree...wow!!
Never tasted pomegranate. :o) Hope Nick's surgery goes well. Happy Anniversary for the 20th! Mine and hubby's was the 15th - 22 years. :o)
Pomegranites are really special and unique fruits and you've done a wonderful job on this one. It looks so tempting. My mom used to buy them for us (which really surprises me because she was such a clean freak and they're so messy) and my sister and I had such fun eating them and...of course...drawing with the juice from the seeds, mostly on ourselves.
Beautiful drawing Lin, such a lovely soft red.
Congratulations on your Anniversary!
